New Gear Coming in from NAMM

We’re in Anaheim this week scouting out all the new gear for 2008 at the NAMM show. If you’ve never been, it’s a huge international music industry trade show that’s closed to the public where all the companies show off their new stuff (and you get to see drunken rock stars roaming the hallways). It’s a guaranteed good time, and be sure to come by the store next month when we’ll be receiving all of our new equipment.

And who knows, maybe we’ll be picking up some serious new guitar lines…..

A look at our current product lines can be found HERE.

The Grand Central Philosophy

At Grand Central Music we know that there are lots of sources for great instruments. We sell great instruments and we provide outstanding lessons and repairs; but what really makes Grand Central special is our staff expertise. Pictures of instruments on the internet or quick blurbs in a catalog can’t help when you want to know how an amplifier will perform after five hours turned up to eleven. Where is the line between a microphone that provides the best sound quality and one that can stand up to a year on the road in the back of a van? What is the best use of your money to set up a home recording studio based specifically on the type of music you want to play and produce? Our store and conservatory is staffed entirely by musicians who collectively represent decades of live and recording experience across a wide array of musical genres and instruments. We believe that our success relies on developing customers, not on individual sales. There are no commissions and no pressure sales. We believe that if you know that you can rely on us for the best technical information and service that you’ll also rely on us for instruments, gear, lessons and supplies.

Navigation:
You’ll find the main page links above for information about the store, lessons, events, product lines, repairs and more. In the side bar to the left, you’ll find categories of posts, such as GCM Music (video and music made by people affiliated with the store), videos, friends (video and audio of regulars and friends who make great music), news and more. The link for our online store is also in the side bar.

Conservatory Kids Classes starting soon!

We have been working hard on developing our new Conservatory Kids classes for parents and their kids. (ages 1 to 5) The program will be taught by Amanda Yoshimizu a Cal Poly music major. The Classes will introduce the kids to music, movement (dancing and stretching), instruments and much more. The classes will help the kids and parents to build strong bonds through music and interaction. We are staring a pilot of our newly developed curriculum for 4 year olds kids in April. If you have any interest in participating in the pilot with your kid or kids, let us know. This will be a free trial of our program. Click Here.
